A Thai amulet is for sale in the ThaiVisa classifieds section for the low price of USD400 million.
Alai na?
You read that correctly: This amulet is retailing for THB12 billion
Apparently it is “over one hundred years old” and “the material is very rare” and “only found in the streams of Nonthaburi province.”
For 400 million bucks we’d also hope that ownership of a mid-level professional sports team is included in the price of the amulet.
The sellers have no problem with demonstrating the amulet’s protective powers to potential purchasers “We happy for you to try shooting a bullet at the Phea Rea Bangpai Pim Pid Ta, this will show you that the bullet will not pass through the buddha or the bullet will not come out from the gun,” says the classified ad.
Thankfully, the sellers are open to negotiation: “The price can be altered due to the satisfaction of both parties, the seller and the buyer.”
We’ve seen amulets go for as high as THB50 million recently, but surely this seller can’t be serious.
Maybe they got a little over-excited while hitting the “zero” key?
