The worst has passed of Typhoon Rammasun, which killed more than 100 and devastated parts of Southeast Asia, yet the monsoon rains it strengthened will continue to hit Bangkok.
Rain is likely to continue tonight with thunderstorms likely through the rest of the week and a particularly rainy Friday in Bangkok.
Elsewhere in Thailand, the Meteorological Department warns residents along the Andaman Sea and Gulf of Thailand to prepare for a medium-intensity southwestern monsoon while a low pressure cell will bring scattered and heavy rains to some regions including the east, northeast and the southwest of Thailand.
As the Thunder God dissipates, his successor, Typhoon MATMO takes shape. Fortunately the storm is expected to also spare the realm. However anyone planning trips to Manila, Taipei or Shanghai from now through Friday had best follow weather updates.
