Raid on Tao Poon casino fails as search warrant expires

Yesterday, a team of 200 Tao Poon police officers failed to raid the infamous Tao Poon casino as their search warrant expired minutes before the operation was supposed to go into effect.

Authorities received a tip that the illegal gambling house in the Bang Sue district had once again opened its doors to gamers. They showed up at the venue at 7pm. It seems, however, that the police might have spent too long on their preparations, as the search warrant expired at 7:30pm.

After being refused access to the casino, the cops settled for observing the casino all night from the outside. They will ask the court to issue a new search warrant today, Dailynews reports.
