Antigovernment protesters paraded to 13 locations throughout Bangkok, including government offices and television channels to recruit numbers, disrupt the operations in the capital and continue with their whistle-blowing demonstrations.
One group led by former Deputy Prime Minister Suthep Thaugsuban has reportedly taken over the Ministry of Finance building this afternoon. Elsewhere, an independent reporter from Germany had to be rescued by security forces after a former politician called him out from stage.
Red shirts counter-demonstrating in support of the government have remained within Rajamangala National Stadium in the Bang Kapi district.
Various factions aligned against the administration of Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra have joined today’s demonstrations. The affected locations are:
