Protesters injured in attack possibly targeting Suthep

Two attacks have been reported on protest sites this afternoon with several protesters injured.

A grenade lobbed at a parade led by chief protester Suthep Thaugsuban on Banthad Road injured at least eight protesters at about 1pm.

The victims were rushed to Siriraj Hospital while protesters searched nearby abandoned buildings where the grenade was believed to have been thrown from.

The attack happened before Suthep, the protest leader charged with rebellion, was to pass the location.

Army personnel arrived quickly to investigate the attack.
