Thai PM Prayuth Chan-ocha announced that he will cut his tedious weekly televised speeches, called “Returning Happiness to the People,” from an hour to just 20 minutes every Friday.

This welcome revelation was made in Pattaya on Monday. The brash PM also apologized again for not always being polite or forthcoming with the media, reported Thai PBS.

In typical Prayuth style, he asked rhetorically, “What’s the point of being polite if it’s not sincere? To be sincere, I have to speak the way I am,” he said.

He also noted that his speeches were made, “Not because I like talking or want other people to think like me. But there must be something good in me otherwise I would not have been around for three years.”
