Thailand Prime Minister Prayuth Chan-ocha was chosen by God to lead Thailand…or so says his former English teacher.
Dozens of Thai-American youth and their guardians were welcomed back to the motherland with an event at Government House yesterday, at which Prayuth got to catch up with his long lost American teacher Kathy Wongpothong.
Kathy was Prayuth’s English teacher in 1985 when he was a young, strapping soldier and said she was not surprised at all that Prayuth seized power and became the Prime Minister.
“God chose him for this nation! God chose him as Prime Minister!” she said, according to a Facebook post by Bangkok Post report Wassana Nanuam.
Kathy added that she’s been living in Thailand on and off for 34 years and is well-aware of corruption problems, but that Prayuth has been sent by God to solve them.
