Polite robber with a winning sense of courtesy collects a couple thousand from 7-Elevens

A very polite robber got away with THB2,000 cash after gently robbing two branches of 7-Eleven on Chaeng Wattana Road yesterday.

Waraporn Nutchapong, a 7-Eleven employee, said she had closed the store and was filling the shelves when the robber graciously tapped on the glass door.

It was 30 minutes after curfew, and he respectfully asked to buy an energy drink.

Waraporn agreed to let him in. After he put his energy drink on the counter, he genially whipped out a large knife and introduced himself.

“Hi, I’m here to rob you,” he said amiably. “Please don’t fight back and give me the money.”

Waraporn gave him THB1,200 in cash left in the drawer before he escaped to rob another store.

In the second store, the man reportedly got away with THB800.

After closing time, the employees have to lock the money in a safe and usually only leave small change at the cashier.

Nevertheless, police say they will track down the man from CCTV footage, Kapook reported.
