Police: Tata executive not murdered, ‘note’ found in room

Investigators have determined that no one pushed Karl Slym, the chief executive of India’s Tata Motors, to his death from the 22nd floor of the Shangri-la Hotel on Sunday.

Police however did say they found a three-page, handwritten note in the room Slym, 51, was staying in. They are in the process of having it translated into Thai.

“We can rule out murder in this case,” Police Lt. Somyot Boonyakeow said. “We are still investigating his death.”

Slym was traveling with his wife when they checked into the hotel on Friday and came to Thailand to attend a company board meeting.

Forensic examiners are performing an autopsy on Slym’s body, Bangkok Post reported.
