Police are seeking approval for seven arrest warrants for men suspected of involvement in a gun battle one day before this month’s election.

Several of the suspects names are known, but none is from the military or police, national police Chief Adul Saengsingkaew said.

Six people were shot, including two journalists in the 30-minute firefight which broke out at Lak Si intersection on Vibhavadi-Rangsit Road on Feb. 1.

Three groups of protesters from Lat Phrao, Chaeng Wattana and Wat Lak Si were involved in the clash, MCOT reported.
