Ninety pooches on their way to being butchered in Vietnam were saved by Thai police Tuesday night.
Police said they intercepted a pickup truck on route 213 in Kalasin’s Somdet district at about 11.30pm.
A total of 90 lucky dogs were stuffed into a steel cage on the back of the vehicle that was covered with black cloth.
Police arrested 50-year-old driver Narongsak Busakul and his passenger Paksin Paphromrit, 52. Both are Sakhon Nakhon residents, the Bangkok Post reported.
