Police nab repeat offender bag snatchers

The Nation reports that two Thai men have been arrested for stealing the belongings of an Australian tourist in Bangkok’s Yannawa district.

Both 26-year-old Theerasak “Jack” Chaiyakan and 19-year-old Kittisak Juicharoen were arrested in the Sathorn district after police found them acting suspiciously. The police then searched the two men and found that they had in their possession the belongings of an Australian tourist.

A further search of the men’s homes revealed a veritable treasure trove of stolen goods, including iPhones, handbags and a camera.

What’s more, police are reporting that both men have been reprimanded for purse snatching before. Theerasak had a prior warrant for bag snatching and Kittisak had just been released from prison in late December, where he was serving time on a similar charge.
