Local police have doubled their efforts to monitor teenagers from Bangkok’s Ramkhamhaeng district. The move came after an investigation showed that southern insurgents might be the ones behind the May 26 Ramkhamhaeng bombing, reports said.
A Nation report quoted a well-informed source from the Metropolitan Police Bureau who disclosed that police units from the capital had been given orders to coordinate their efforts in monitoring the places where students from Ramkhamhaeng University hang out. They were also ordered to check the background of these teens from the three southern border provinces.
Authorities have already apprehended a certain Id-ris Satapor, 24, who was allegedly the lookout for the May 26 attack on the Ramkhamhaeng street stalls. He had admitted to collaborating with other suspects Khamphi Lateh, Ibroheng Waemae and Harem Malee.
