Thai police are working to identify a young woman who has tweeted photos of herself strolling naked on a bridge in Chonburi province to her 21,000 followers.
The woman, who uses the Twitter handle “Nong Nan,” took the photos at the rest stop on Saphan Mai bridge, police said, sharing them with a caption that reads: “Let’s walk along the beach road, dear.”
Pol. Col. Adinan Nuchnarot, commander of Chonburi police, today said that his investigators are on the case, but the fact that Nong Nan has already closed her Twitter account is making the investigation difficult.
He said that Nong Nan, if found, will be charged with public indecency, which is punishable by a fine of up to THB5,000 (US$150).
When interviewed by TNN 24, Pol. Adinan urged Nong Nan to contact the police and accept the charge.
“It’s only a misdemeanor. Just come in to meet the police,” he said, before helpfully adding, “Don’t do it. It’s not good to expose yourself.”
Chonburi Deputy Commander Pol. Col. Sakrapee Piewpanich commented on her exhibitionism that it’s a stunt that “normal people would not pull,” and he is requesting Nong Nan to turn herself in and receive an “attitude adjustment” by the police on how to behave in the Thai society.
