Police called on to remove Sanam Luang protesters

Bangkok Police have been requested to remove hundreds of protesters in Sanam Luang who are asking for the resignation of Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra.

Julanop Nuchanart, Phra Nakhon District Office Director, explained that government opponents have defied an order from the city to vacate the park adjacent to the Grand Palace. Julanop filed a complaint on Tuesday requesting the Chana Songkhram police remove the protesters.

Chaiwat Sinsuwong, who heads the group of protesters, firmly stated that they are not afraid of the city’s efforts to disperse them and they would even step up their actions if threatened. He added that authorities can use force only after the government invokes the security laws, the Nation reported.
