Police seized THB120 million worth of assets belonging to a suspected drug kingpin in Prachuap Khiri Khan yesterday.
Chairat “Ut” Nuthong, 50, allegedly ran a luxury resort that is thought to be a front for illicit activities.
The suspect was lured into selling methamphetamine to undercover officers in Pran Buri district, police said.
Police found the man had allegedly hidden 6,000 speed pills in his car and another 1,000 pills in his room in Kinnari Resort and Spa. The resort was one of his assets seized yesterday.
According to investigators, Chairat had bought the drugs in Myanmar and smuggled them into Thailand in herbal packs.
Officers are investigating whether Chairat may have been planning to produce methamphetamine pills himself, the Bangkok Post reported.
