Police officials report they arrested 183 protesters for violating the emergency decree during yesterday’s operation.
Of those, Royal Thai Police spokesman Piya Uthayo said 144 were taken into custody outside the Ministry of Energy on Vibhavadi-Rangsit Road, which is also the headquarters of the Thai petrochemical company PTT.
Another 39 were detained from the area around the stage near the Pan Fah Bridge on Ratchadamnoen Road, near where a violent clash killed upward of five people yesterday.
All detainees are being kept at the Region 1 Border Patrol Police office in Pathum Thani. They’ve been charged with violating the emergency decree, which forbids gatherings of 10 or more people, Bangkok Post reported.
