Picky cabbie posts rules all over cab, including no gossiping and no profanity

While most taxis in Bangkok don’t even follow the laws, this cabbie has signs all over his car, stating what passengers can and can’t do.

TV presenter and columnist Kanok Ratwongsakul shared photos taken inside a taxi with a question, “Is this a taxi or a training center?”

Kanok was likely referring to social etiquette training, since the rules were written in such a way to demean and criticize the passengers he picks up.

The first sign attached to the back of the driver’s seat reads, “Sit silently. Think repeatedly. Have conscience. Be aware and knowledgeable — it’s better than gossiping about others.”

Another reads, “No profanity. Profanity makes you low.”

Two signs on the window read, “No nose-picking in car” and “No arguing in car.”

Another sign says, “If you don’t leave trash in the car, then please admire your father and mother for having taught you well.”

Ouch.

And then there’s a couple of forgivable English signs that cover the basics, “Sorry cannot stop at shops and wait” and “Don’t forget your valuables”

As the posts went viral, some netizens said that the taxi’s rules are a little excessive and suggest some taxi drivers should keep their mouths shut and not talk about their problems to passengers.

The others agree with the cabbie, adding people nowadays could use a reminder of good manners.
