Many pageant fans’ favorite part of the Miss Grand International 2016 competition was the impressive moment when the contestants had to introduce themselves to the cheering crowd.
All they needed to do was to say their name and the country they represented, but every fan knows it takes so much more than a pretty face and impressive pronunciation to be the best — all the energy, pride, and everything about their identity need to be presented in this one single moment.
And it’s funny as hell to watch.
A Thai pageant fan, Manassavin Malevong, decided to create a dub parody of this fans favorite’ moment. He thought it would be extra funny if the contestants had to scream out the names of random places in Thailand instead of introducing themselves too.
From Platinum Shopping Mall, Fashion Island, Anu Saowaree (Victory Monument), Bangrak District, Sao Ching Cha, or just Chiang Mai, the dub fitted perfectly with the contestants’ mouth movements.
Anyway, this is what the Thai people have been laughing at on the BTS. If you speak basic Thai, you should be able to get this.
