Pattaya vendor slaps trans woman with durian after she calls his fruit inedible (VIDEO)

A Thai trans woman has shared a video that captures the moment she got slapped with a piece of durian by a seller in South Pattaya, after the pair got into an argument over the durian’s quality.

Facebook user Bella Thepsatar said yesterday that she simply tried to exchange a durian at a shop on Thepprasit Road because the texture was mushy and, for her, inedible.

She wrote in her post: “I’ve bought durians from this shop twice and had no problems, but this time the fruit was so mushy that it sticks onto the paper wrap.”

This probably means the durian was too ripe, something this new tool that measures durian ripeness might have seen coming (seriously, we can’t believe we’re getting a durian fight just days after reporting on this new device).

The video showing their argument quickly went viral — as durian-slapping videos do — and had been shared more than 20,000 times as of yesterday afternoon. Bella wrote that she “didn’t want to cause any trouble,” but the durian seller reacted angrily at her request.

The video opens with the seller threatening to hurt the woman. “I’ll f*cking hit you!” he shouts.

She replies: “Why would you hit me? I’m speaking to you nicely. What are you gonna do to me? I’m just saying the durian is too mushy and I can’t eat it.”

And just like that, the durian seller slaps her in the face with the mushy durian, causing her to start crying.

“I only told you that the durian is inedible,” she protests through sobs. “I’ve bought durians from you twice.”

As Bella stands outside the shop, a teen boys follows her out of the shop and says to her, “I’m so sorry, sis,” before running to get toilet paper to help her clean up.

At the end, a woman comes out of the shop and asks her to leave.

“He doesn’t like it when someone talks back to him,” she helpfully explains. “I’m begging you. Please leave.”

Only hours after the video was posted, enraged netizens began posting the location of the durian shop from Google Maps, with some even calling for a boycott.

And the web rage was only just starting to flow.

“I’m changing your shop’s name to ‘Fat F*ck,” user PupaetaTeep P’Chattarika said before sharing her somewhat basic Photoshop skills.

Others have suggested that Belle file a police complaint, and the seller he should be charged for assault. We’ll let you know what happens. Til then, may all your durians be firm.
