Pattaya police arrest prostitutes as part of social order campaign

TODAY IN PATTAYA – More than 100 women and transgender individuals were rounded up by police on Wednesday night on Pattaya’s Walking Street.

Police said the raid was motivated by a series of complaints from tourists who had claimed they had been robbed and cheated.

The women and the transgenders were taken to Pattaya police station and were fined for loitering, warned about their behaviour and released.

Police said the operation was part of a plan to create social order and improve the image of Pattaya by tackling crimes against tourists, the Bangkok Post reported.
