Somchai Nilsri, a singer from Pattani province, was crowned the champ of third season of Thailand’s Got Talent yesterday.
Somchai Nilsri, 30, sang about the insurgency in southern Thailand where he has witnessed the death of his hometown.
Somchai’s signature song “White Pigeon” told the story of Southern Thais who are emotionally hurt by daily gun shots and deaths. The lyrics are a tear-jerker for any Thais who are well-aware of the violent situation.
Somchai will receive THB10 million, a condominium and car. He revealed to the press that he will use his prize money to help the Southern Thais in the three provinces where the war takes place, TLC reported.
