Passenger who beat security guard at Easy Pass tollbooth turns himself in

The enraged passenger who beat a security guard at a tollbooth on Bangkok’s Sirat Expressway on Monday has turned himself in.

Thanawat Paesawat, 35, confessed to beating 52-year-old security guard, Aniruth Sangmit, because he was mad that the guard didn’t let his truck go through the tollbooth because he didn’t have an Easy Pass — a top-up card used to pay tolls.

Thanawat knocked the guard out after his group was told to go to another booth.

The security guard demanded a THB30,000 compensation but Thanawat only offered to pay THB10,000.

Thanawat has been charged for assault, Komchadluek reported.
