The parents of two school kids who were filmed having sex in a classroom have filed criminal charges against the video-taker.
Police said the parents believe a classmate took the video of the high school students without their knowledge and published it online, Khaosod English reported.
The video uploader now faces prosecution under the Computer Crime Act, which makes it illegal to distribute pornography online.
Anyone caught posting obscene material on the internet which can be viewed by the public can face a jail sentence of up to five years and a fine of up to THB100,000, Bangkok Post reported.
“We will have to inquire about the student who filmed the clip, and all other students who are involved,” Sarawut Chanmano, deputy commander of Thoen police station, told Khaosod English.
“We believe it will take some time, because the kids are in the middle of their final exams, so we have to wait for the exam to be over first.”
He added that the students who had been filmed having sex on their teacher’s desk were “rather stressed” about the video and the exams, while a school official said the female student planned to move schools after the exams were over.
The video went viral after it was uploaded on Monday, with several local media outlets republishing it while condemning the students.
