Police were looking today for a creeper who has been spraying women’s pants with paint at public locations across Bangkok, according to one of the victims.

After Twitter user Mm_error last night became the latest victim to post a warning to women about an older man spraying paint on the back of their pants, the user said they were told by police that the man had previously been arrested over similar incidents.

“Today the police have contacted me. They wanted me to confirm the perpetrator because I have seen his face,” Mm_error wrote last night. “The perpetrator was the same person who had previously been arrested. The police are working to find and collect evidence. It is expected they will catch him soon.”

Mm_error also posted a video said to show the pervy perp following other women at BTS Bearing.

“It’s clear that he’s following the girl in the clip. When our friend felt something cold on her pants, it was like she was sprayed with something,” they added. “When she turned around, the man had already fled, and our friend’s pants had turned completely red. We walked over to ask the vendor selling goods in that area, and she said she saw the man following only girls.”

At least 10 women have shared similar accounts. Nearly all of the photos posted showed victims wearing light- or cream-colored pants sprayed with red paint.

The first report seemed to come Thursday from an unidentified woman who goes by Lilililiimrp on Twitter. She said an older man sprayed her while she was waiting to board a train home, also at BTS Bearing.

“So scary!!! I was about to head home as usual from BTS Bearing and right next to me on the stairs was this crazy uncle who approached me and sprayed red paint all over my pants! What a psycho! He quickly ran away too,” Lilililiimrp tweeted Thursday.

Her tweet went viral and drew similar reports.

“A friend where I work was also harassed. She did not see who did it, but when she returned home she saw her bag was covered too. … She was harassed around the Lasalle area,” YuriPeal tweeted on Sunday.
One person pointed out that it appeared similar to what happened in December, when a 61-year-old man was arrested for spraying blue paint on women’s pants in the Samrong area.
