One-third of Thai public opposes lewd acts during Songkran

A poll, recently released by the National Institute of Development Administration (NDIA), suggests that roughly one-third of Thais oppose lewd actions and dress during Songkran.

The poll revealed that of the 11,253 people surveyed, 36.79% oppose “skimpy dress and lewd dancing” during the new year’s holiday.

The silver lining of this statistic lies in the fact that, apparently, two-thirds of Thais are completely fine with behaving lewdly. Kudos to them. Yet another subset of those surveyed (21%) expressed the entirely reasonable opinion that they dislike drinking and driving during Songkran.
