One for the team: Chill out in the office a few extra hours tonight to help traffic, city hall advises

Unhappy about bad traffic from flooded streets ruining your commute?

With more big storms this evening expected to snarl traffic again, city hall has a solution: Don’t go home!

Commuters “should delay returning home by one or two hours if they want to avoid traffic jams,” a city clerk told the Bangkok Post.

Instead of whining about overloaded drainage systems, Deputy City Clerk Sanya Chenimit said this Friday night is a good time to clock some extra hours to make it easier for those who don’t.

“Staying one or two hours longer at your office may help alleviate traffic congestion,” Sanya said.

A powerful monsoon is expected to soak most of the capital and outlying areas today and tomorrow.
