Brandy Melville, the clothing brand famous for Tumblr-worthy tiny tank tops and shockingly small shorts, has launched its first shop in Thailand at Siam Center.
Popular among American teen girls for its affordable prices and skin-baring styles, the Italian-born brand has made headlines for selling only one size of everthing. Here you won’t find any crop top or miniskirt with a label that says anything other than “one-size.”
This policy has sparked controversy in the U.S. as critics have said that the brand promotes one single body type and may pressure insecure teens into using unhealthy weight-loss methods and developing poor body images if they don’t fit into the tiny clothing, according to Slate.
Considering that Thai girls have been dealing with the one-size rule at most Thai markets for decades, this probably won’t be a biggie for them.
The prices are reportedly in the same range as H&M, with a tank top costing about THB500.
Too bad you can’t finish off your Western girl look with a pumpkin spice latte. The classic white girl drink is not available in Thailand.
