Bangkok transport officials will revive the old bus terminal at Mo Chit, previously used as a train maintenance center for the BTS.

On Wednesday, the Deputy Transport Minister, Pichit Akarathit, said that buses with destinations beyond two hundred kilometers out of Bangkok will be relocated from the Mo Chit 2 Terminal to the older Mo Chit terminal. “Short-haul” buses, with final destinations of less than two hundred kilometers, will leave from Bang Sue Bus Terminal.

For all passengers’ convenience, the bus terminal at Bang Sue provides access to taxi services, BMTA bus, and even high-speed train services, reports Thai PBS.

Pichit emphasized that all buses must be relocated from the Mo Chit 2 Bus Terminal, as traffic congestion in the area would become even more problematic and disturb the “commercial development of Bang Sue center.”

He reassured the public that the relocation will not make traveling less inconvenient: the “long-haul” buses leaving from the old Mo Chit Terminal will be able to pick up passengers at Bang Sue Terminal as well.
