In impressive agitprop-to-marketing time, Oishi Group has co-opted the whole “bringing happiness back to Thailand” thing for a promotion.
The company will offer 50 percent discounts on everything at its six restaurant chains: Kakashi, Shabushi, Oishi Grand, Oishi Japanese Buffet, Oishi Ramen and Nikuya.
Though this happiness-giving project is not officially sanctioned by the junta, expect mad hungry crowds, but probably less aggressive than the free movie mobs.
The promotion runs July 28 to Aug. 3. Maybe it’s an excuse to try a chain-restaurant Japanese meal or a darn good reason to avoid them.
