Water levels continue to fall in the dams which feed farms and supply water downstream while officials order output further reduced to compensate.
Facing uncertainty over the availability of water in the capital growing, Interior Minister Gen. Anupong Paochinda called for public calm, saying the government “has measures in place to cope with the drought crisis,” according to a state media report.
It did not specify what those measures were.
Officials elsewhere sought to address anxiety about water avaiability.
Upstream of Bangkok in Ayutthaya, locals were assured they’d have enough water for consumption yesterday by the provincial waterworks.
