Vendors were cleared from the sidewalks of Huai Khwang market today.
Around 150 cops and soldiers were sent to enforce the ban on vendors from Pracha Uthit to Pracha Songkhro Road by the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA).
The BMA said they acted after residents complained of congestion and a build up of garbage in the drainage system.
About 390 vendors will be allowed to relocate to the second floor of the market, which has requested an extension of the relocation deadline.
