Nott’s restaurant shareholder says she received bomb threats following infamous car crash

The owner of Bekku Tonkatsu, a Japanese restaurant in Asoke where “Kowtow to my car” actor Acharanat “Nott” Ariyaritwikol is a major shareholder, said that she has been harassed and threatened through phone calls following the actor’s car crash and infamous forced kowtow.

Sure, making memes of Nott and his phrase “Kowtow to my car” is light-hearted, but things get out of line when someone fears for their safety.

Nampueng Bukku, the restaurant owner, said she had to unplug the restaurant’s phone due to the harassment.

“After the news spread, our regular customers understand us, but we’ve received many phone calls that threaten to throw a bomb at our restaurant, flip us off, or tell our staff to quit. We had to unplug the phone,” Nampueng told Khaosod.

Nampeung founded the restaurant with her Japanese husband 13 years ago, but after her husband passed away three years ago, she had to close the restaurant. Tonkatsu Bekku reopened in December of last year when the actor offered to be her business partner.

Last week, a video of Nott punching a motorcyclist who hit his car and told him to “kowtow” at his Mini Cooper became the talk of town. He was fired from his hosting and acting jobs at the Grammy network.

“Nott is a such modest person. It was the first time that I saw him like that. I was shocked too. If normally he was like that, our business partnership wouldn’t have lasted this long,” Nampueng said.

Over 8,000 keyboard bullies flocked to her restaurant’s Facebook page and dropped one-star reviews. Many wrote the message: “Kowtow to my tonkatsu!”

Nampueng requested that people stop harassing her.

“Please don’t call to scold at us. You think he’s guilty, but my staff and I have nothing to do with this,” she said.
