Passport? Check. Foreign currency? Check. Stun gun? Not today.
That’s going to have to be the new checklist for travelers going from Thailand to Hong Kong, as the Foreign Ministry has issued a notice warning Thais not to take their stun guns over there, Bangkok Post reported.
I know. The spoilsports.
The ministry had to dole out the seemingly obvious advice after EIGHT Thais, clearly all Dr Evil-wannabes, were arrested at Hong Kong international airport over the last year over bringing in electric stun devices.
Stun guns are classified as weapons in Hong Kong and taking one there can land you a fine of up to HK$100,000 (THB 467,000) or even up to 14 years in the slammer.
They’re also illegal in Thailand.
The Foreign Ministry has specified that travelers can’t take their stun guns into Hong Kong by air or sea, and no you can’t store them in the plane’s cargo either.
Back to the evil drawing board.
