Sixteen people injured early this morning when a bus collided with a pickup truck in the intersection of Ratchada and Lat Phrao roads.

The accident occurred when a pink No. 8 bus struck the truck of a maintenance crew doing work in the intersection at about 5:30am, injuring people in both vehicles, including an 11-year-old bus passenger.

Five people including the bus driver were severely injured and taken to Paolo, Bhumibol Adulyadej, and Ladprao general hospitals.

Traffic resumed by 7am after workers hauled the bus out of the intersection. Police are currently reviewing CCTV footage.
