Yingluck and Abhisit march against corruption

Prime Miniser Yingluck Shinawatra and opposition leader and former PM Abhisit Vejjajiva led a march against corruption from Lumpini Park to Silom Road on Sunday, Sept. 25.

Joining Yingluck and Abhisit were Senate speaker Gen Teeradej Meepien; Pongsak Assakul, chairman of the Anti-Corruption Center; representatives from 30 organizations; and a crowd of supporters.

Yingluck led a vow to oppose corruption in all forms and create a culture of honesty, MCOT reported. She also led a vow for participants not to abuse power and exploit the public’s interested for personal gain.

Abhisit also handed Yingluck a personal letter asking the government to help flood-affected farmers who had registered for an income-guarantee program under the last government, the Nation reported.
