Wittaya Subprayuth, a science TV show for kids produced by Workpoint Entertainment, has been nominated for an Emmy Kids Award in the non-scripted entertainment category.
The show is Asia’s sole representative among the four finalists. It has to compete with Brazil’s Art Attack, Norway’s Energy Survival and Canada’s In Real Life to win the Emmy on Feb. 8, 2013 in New York City.
Workpoint President Panya Nirankul told Thairath that he was excited to see his firm’s program was in the running to receive a global award once again.
First broadcast on Mar. 5, 2011, Wittaya Subprayuth is an initiative of the Institute for the Promotion of Teaching Science and Technology. It airs on Channel 5 every Saturday from 6PM to 6:55PM.
To secure its nomination, Wittaya Subprayuth has gone through three rounds of judging over a period of six months. The International Emmy Kids Awards is a new competition with a stand-alone ceremony. It aims to recognize excellence in children’s television programming that is produced and initially aired outside of the US.
