A woman died when her white Chevrolet Cruze fell from the fifth floor parking lot of Rasa Tower in Bangkok’s Chatuchak district last week.
Kobkarn Witcharat, 40, a supply chain division manager at Chevrolet Sales (Thailand) Co, Ltd., was killed inside the wreckage of the car.
Police said that she lost control of the Chevy while driving down from the sixth floor. They are investigating whether the plunge was an accident or something else, as they found the car’s gear stick stuck in “park” and the emergency break fully functional.
Chevrolet Sales (Thailand) is headquartered on the 21st floor of Rasa Tower.
Nipon Theerawiboonkhachorn, 35, a witness, told the Bangkok Post that she head an explosion-like sound while having dinner with friends nearby.
“Shortly after I heard it, I ran out of the restaurant in the direction the sound came from. I was frightened by what I saw. I saw two cars on the road damaged by the car that fell,” Mr Nipon said.
