The World Wildlife Fund’s recent PR campaign to put pressure on the Thai ivory trade appears to be going swimmingly.
This morning, the Washington Post ran a story that paints a grisly picture Thailand’s ivory trade and reiterates the WWF’s assertion that action must be taken prior to March’s Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora.
With its coverage, the Post joins other English language news portals, such as the Huffington Post and the Associated Press, that have also taken up the WWF’s cause.
No word yet from the Thai government about the sale of ivory, but, in the words of WWF strategist Leigh Henry, they “now have their feet held to the fire.”
