At 11pm yesterday, Pathumwan police announced the arrest of a 34-year-old Vietnamese man who had allegedly shoplifted 260 items of clothing, worth more than THB200,000, from a Uniqlo store in Central World shopping mall.
Police also seized from Wu Ngoc Kuang two paper bags that were lined with aluminum foil in order to beat anti-theft sensor equipment. Wu told police that two other Vietnamese, whom he met on the plane, hired him to help carry the clothes back to Vietnam.
Wu was busted alone while his two accomplices, who were inside the mall at the time of the arrest, remain on the loose. Wu will be handed over to the Pathumwan police station for further interrogation, Dailynews reported.
