The Center for Economy and Business Forecasting of the Thai Chamber of Commerce University said today that Valentine’s Day spending was expected to jump 14.99% this year, reaching a five-year high of THB3,210 million.
Thanawat Pholwichai, the center’s director, stated that increased spending on flowers, chocolates, movie tickets and dining would combine to produce the overall hike. He said that 65.3% of respondents surveyed would pay more attention to this year’s Valentine’s Day.
INN wrote that peoples’ savings would fund 57.6% of the expected spending, while 37.6% of it would come directly from consumers’ salaries.
