The three Iranian bombing suspects who are now in custody with Bangkok police partied with ladies of ill repute in Pattaya before their botched blast attempt on Sukhumvit Soi 71.
A woman in her twenties named Nan told Thailand immigration officers last week that she met Mohammad Khazaei, who was arrested at Suvarnabhumi Airport, in Pattaya and escorted him around the seedy beach resort. She also arranged for two of her friends to escort Khazei’s two companions, Saeid Moradi, who blew his legs off in the last blast and is now in treatment at Chulalongkorn Hospital, and Masoud Sedaghat Zadeh, who was arrested in Malaysia.
A photo from Nan’s mobile phone shows the three new couples hanging out and smoking shisha in a Middle Eastern establishment in Pattaya.
The suspects stayed in Pattaya from Feb. 8 to 13, according to the hotel’s registration. The botched blast attempts happened on Valentine’s Day Feb. 14. Nan said that during their stay they played snooker and drank together.
Nan reportedly said that she didn’t witness any strange activity from the men, except on one occasion where Khazei blocker her from approaching a closet in the hotel room.
“What we got from Ms Nan is circumstantial evidence that helps confirm to us that they were here together in Pattaya,” Pol Lt Col Thawatchai Nongbua, inspector of Chon Buri Immigration Office, said according to the Bangkok Post.
Thailand National Police Chief Priewpan Damapong said police brought Nan to the immigration bureau to help make Khazei – who apparently had shown signs of massive stress and refused to eat – more comfortable. After her arrival he apppeared more at ease and agreed to eat, Pol Gen Priewpan said.
