Two gruesome cases of domestic murder were uncovered by police in Bangkok yesterday.
In the first, police in Bangkok’s Bang Khun Non area arrested Pornsuree Deepaew, 36, for allegedly decapitating her husband Prasit Seesomboonyanon, 47, the Nation reported.
Prasit reportedly had suffered from paralysis for two years.
A security guard at the couple’s apartment called the police when he saw a man’s leg while he was helping Pornsuree move belongings from her apartment yesterday, the Bangkok Post reported.
Responding police found Prasit’s body in the apartment with his head, hands, and right foot severed – divers later found the head in a pond nearby.
Witnesses said that Pornsuree had been acting strange since Saturday, when she canceled her apartment lease out of the blue. Early yesterday she went to buy plastic bags to pack up her apartment and was later seen throwing one into the pond.
Pornsuree appeared psychotic when she was arrested and told police that she was the “medium of a deity,” the Nation reported. Police believe she may have been involving in a cult or addicted to drugs.
She has been quarantined and is being mentally evaluated to determine whether she is fit to give a statement.
In the second case, Pathum Wan man Chanchai Winakorn, 29, killed his wife Saichon Kongkaew, 31, in what may have been a murder-suicide pact.
The couple’s neighbors called the police to report that they were fighting – when police arrived they found Saichon with her throat slashed and 14 knife wounds to her body. Chanchai was lying near her with a slash wound to his neck and a stab wound in the abdomen.
According to the Nation, police found two suicide notes next to Chanchai – one by Saichon, voicing her will to die with her husband, and one by Chanchai, pledging to die to end his wife’s affairs.
