Trucks block Vibhavadi-Rangsit road over NGV price hike

Truck, taxi, and bus drivers have blocked outbound Vibhavadi-Rangsit road today Jan. 9 in protest of increased NGV gas prices.

The Cabinet has allowed Thai national energy company PTT Plc to increase the NGV price by 50 satang per month, which will in effect increase the price from Bt8.50 per kilo currently to Bt14.50 by the end of next year, the Nation reported.

Yu Jiayuenyongpong, chief advisor of the Central Transport Association of Thailand, said that his association had decided to block the road to protest against the price increase.

Chatchai said the government should not allow PTT to monopolize the sale of NGV gas.
