Trio arrested for buying poached elephant meat and ivory

Police recently arrested three people for buying elephant meat and ivory from poachers who hunted the beasts in Phetchaburi Province’s Kraeng Kachan National Park.

A raid at the homes of Manoon Ruengworraset, his son Withoon, and Panya Samranphis turned up elephant organs, penises, and ivory, The Nation reported.

The three suspects then fingered Lookkaew Uppatham and Jan Kuafoo for allegedly killing and butchering numerous elephants. Police are also looking for Somphorn Jorkai for the same crimes.

Manoon, Withoon, and Panya denied all charges but are being held by Kraeng Krachan Police for prosecution.
