Ticket to nowhere: “Travel agent” busted for selling fake airline bookings

Police in Bangkok’s Chokechai area recently arrested the owner of a fraudulent travel agency for selling fake “airline tickets” to unsuspecting customers.

Miss Wimolrat Parudda Chanjumrunkij,  the 38-yea-old, owner of the “Jenny Center” travel agency, reportedly sold “discount” overseas flight tickets for THB5-6,000 to many customers who transferred money to her account to pay for them.

When the victims would try to claim their tickets, Wimolrat would tell them that she had been unable to book their flight but would return the money later.

She kept postponing the refunds, so many people decided to file police reports against her.

Wimolrat was arrested at a restaurant in the Lat Phrao area. She was identified by at least 10 victims who came to Chokechai stations on the day of her arrest.
