Three injured in food vendor/loan shark brawl at Bang Khae Market

Yesterday, food vendors at Bang Khae Market joined hands in an attempt to protect Suphaporn Thongtang, a 65-year-old woman and crispy crepe dealer, who was being attacked by a group of male loan sharks. The incident left two vendors and one loan shark injured.

Nujjaree Silwijarn, Suphaporn’s 36-year-old daughter, told Petchkasem police that about seven to eight men, all clad in helmets and holding weapons, came to her mother’s sweet stand without warning and suddenly hit her. Nujjaree shouted a request for help from other vendors in the market.

During the fight, loan shark Anusorn Chao-ubon, 23, was stabbed in the back so deeply that the knife pierced through his chest. The other members of the group fled the scene after seeing Anusorn collapse in a pool of blood.

Anusorn was rushed to a nearby hospital. Suphaporn and Pathum Sornjak, a 41-year-old fruit vendor, were also admitted for treatment.

Nujjaree told police that her mother paid the debt on time and did not understand why she was attacked, Dailynews reported.
