Police from Bangkok’s Thonglor station have arrested a Pakistani man who allegedly beat his five-year-old Thai stepdaughter to death recently.
Aree Amudbud allegedly kicked and threw his stepdaughter Reusakina Sonthising or Apichaya to the ground and put cigarette buts out on her body, TANN reported. He had become angry at the girl because she was crying during an argument he had with his wife and the girl’s mother Napassawan Nutthapak.
A good samaritan reported seeing bruises on Apichaya’s body earlier at religious services at Ban Don Mosque on Sukhumvit Soi 49, so most likely the assault was not the first.
Aree, who immigrated illegally into Thailand, has been charged with premeditated murder.
