THB20 million swindled in iPhone scam

Yesterday, a group of university students filed a complaint with crime suppression police against a 31-year-old woman who was accused of staging a scam in which she made away with over THB20 million.

Poochita Changkrachang, a 22-year-old victim, said that Nutsudaporn Ployngam, the scammer, tricked her into buying hundreds of iPhone 5s, worth a combined THB6 million. Nutsudaporn offered the phones at THB18,000 per piece, or around THB10,000 lower than the market price. Poochita told police that she could not contact Nutsudaporn last week after transferring the money to her.

According to Dailynews, there were another two victims who came to file a report against Nutsudaporn on that same day. The victims, who were not willing to disclose their names, claimed that they lost over THB12 million to Nutsudaporn in the scam.
