Thailand Tourism Festival running now at IMPACT

The Annual Thailand Tourism Festival is here again to celebrate all things Thai. The festival kicked off with a speech from PM Yingluck Shinawatra on Wednesday. The festival will run all weekend until June 10, so make sure to make the trek out to Nontaburi to witness traditional Thai performances and local artisan crafts.

There will also be a wide range of tourism products on hand to showcase the amazing destinations in the Kingdom. The tourism aspect of the show is particularly important this year after the great flood crisis last year. The event is expected to spur the economy in big ways: 3,000 domestic tour packages are expected to be sold, which will inject an estimated 300 million THB into the recovering economy says The Bangkok Post.

Particularly interesting is the addition of a new “Health Zone” exploring the emerging industry of Health Tourism in the Kingdom. Guests are able to have a traditional Chinese healer check their pulse as well as explore different herbal treatments and Thai massage options.
